Wasteland 3 weapon mods5/9/2023 Sniper doesn't need extra stuff (although Sneaky for higher sneak dmg as combat opener can be nice). Thing is, you might want to stop thinking of characters as combat characters or utility characters, here's a short overview of how I distributed my skills:Ĭompanionslots are taken by Kwon and Lucia, which will complete the whole set with Kiss Ass, Sneaky, Weapon Mod, Barter and Survival.Įxplosives, Weird Science and Toaster Rep are utility on the Heavy but they also directly benefit the heavies dmg outpit with their perks and skill-ups. Anyway, so far I haven't had the impression that spending points in skills such as modding or toaster repair is a good idea for my combat characters. Ok, I've no reason not to believe you, if I get so far as you're I'll see it if it really possible. Later on, it's a reliable source of high grade mods for your weapons which you'll get while also getting money for it, instead of selling everything and then buy mods ) Maybe we define 'early game' different but after every quest in Colorady Springs and in the Bizarre, the Hoon/Apaho-Wuest (+ the first two RHQ Quests) I'm indeed level 15 and pretty maxed out, yes, I'll make an example screenshot for you later and share it if you likeĪnd Field Stripping has several uses, early game, before you hit 5 or 6 barter, it's the better source of income then selling the weapons themself. And please don't tell me now I can get back later, I don't have unlimitd time to play this game.Īnyway, the main point was about field stripping and how useless it is. I'm early game yet, have focused each character on one weapon skill and two utilities skills and I don't see how you can develop all the skills required for checks as high as 5 as early game. So, you're telling us that you are early game and have already almost all skills maxed out, wow you're either a liar or there is something wrong with the design if it is really possible. If you are in such desperate need of weapon skill points, you either have no clue what you're doing or you're playing without upgrading your equipment (what's a fair challenge to go for but then don't complain about needing more weapon skill points xD) I've just stopped doing that tedious repetitive piece of work which resulted anyway in my inventory being filled with useless level 1 crap.ĭude wtf are you high? I just arrived at Denver (only did The Bizarre and Colorado Springs + a few side quests, nothing big) and I already got ALL my weapon skills at 7 or 8 and at least 2, on some even 3, utility skills at 7 or 8 (only barter is lacking, all other skills are close to being maxed without having used a single skill book). So, in order to use that mostly pointless skill, you have to go to the HQ, remove a combat character, add that specialist to the squad and do the action which most of the times yields the same low level crap. You can't afford wasting skill points in skills like weapon and armor modding in your combat oriented characters, so the game allows you to create characters just for maxing out those skills and park them at your HQ. Not being able to strip mods you add via those skills makes them even more pointless.Īnd this is just terrible design, sorry. Just set up a base recruit with those skills maxed since mods are comparatively rare anyway. Not much point having a permanent squad member with those skills either.
